DAKUA MAKANDRE (FIJI KAURI): Suggested Uses: Dakua Makandre includes a wide variety of manufactured items such as bowls, handles, knobs, picture frames, etc. It also used for decorative utilitarian purpose, such as paneling, bench tops, wall units and cabinets. It can also be used for boat building, boat planking, masts, and oars in framing grades. Dakua Makandre is suitable for light construction.
Sizes available are from 50x25 to 300x25, 50x50 to 300x50, 75x75, 100x100 and 150x75. DAKUA SALUSALU: Suggested Uses: Dakua Salusalu is suitable for interior finishing, moldings, window frames and sashes, windowsills, external and internal doors, furniture cabinets, paneling and other decorative end uses, weather boards, fascia boards, and boat cabins. This timber can be used for Dakua Makadre for some end uses. Although this timber is softer then Dakua Makadre.
The size that is available in our yard is from50x25 to 300x25 and 50x50 to 300x50. DAMANU: Suggested Uses: Damanu is suitable for general construction, framing works, flooring, etc. Other uses include boat building (frames), vehicle bodybuilding.
Mostly we stock rough sawn Damanu in sizes of 100x50, 150x50 for construction, 225x50 for heavy vehicle tailgates and planks. DECKING: Suggested Uses: Decking is normally used for pools and boats. The size that is available is 100x25. Species used for decking are TR Pine, Yasi, Sacau and Yesi. TREATED KAUVULA: Suggested Uses: Kauvula is an excellent timber for fine mouldings, interior finishing’s, kitchen cabinets and furniture joinery. Its also suitable for domestic flooring, exterior walls as linings or weatherboards and framing grades are recommended for light construction. Only if the timber is TR to H2 level. The sizes available for sale in our yard are from 50x25 to 300x25 and 30x50 to 300x50.
PINE: Suggested Uses: Pine is suitable for interior and exterior finishing such as interior shiplaps, cabinets, wall units, weather boats, flooring, and linings.
The sizes, which are mostly sold in 50mm timber, are 50x50mm, 75x50mm, 100x50mm and 150x50mm. These sizes are mostly used in framing like knogings (ceiling and Petitions), studs, etc.
The 25mm size, which is sold mostly, is 50x25mm, 75x25mm, 100x25mm, 150x25 and 200x25mm. These 25mm sizes are used for eave battens, door and window stoppers, braces, facer boards, linings, weather boards, ridge boards flooring etc PINE SHIP-LAP: Suggested Uses: Ship-laps are normally designed for interior finishing. They are normally treated to I.T. level only so that the natural grains are visible. The sizes available are 150x25 and 100x25. Species used for ship-laps are Clear Pine, Dakua Salusalu, Dakmakadre and Mahogany. SACUA: Suggested Uses: Sacau is recommended for end uses where strength and durability are required example heavy construction and heavy duty decking, power pole cross arms and boat keels. Other uses include decorative flooring (can be polished or painted) and industrial flooring. It is also suitable for axe handles, knife handles and mallet heads etc.
It is mostly available in 100x50`s, 150x50, 100x75, 100x100 and 150x100 sizes. These sizes like 100x50, and 150x50 are mostly used in framing and 100x75 and 100x100 are used in bottom plates and corner stud, 150x75 and 150x100 are used in house beams. SKIRTINGS: Suggested Uses: Skirtings are used to skirt the ceilings and wall corners. It comes in 75 x 25mm in size and designed to three step pattern. Species used are Mahogany, Pine, Kavula, Dakua and Salusalu. It can be used untreated.
WEATHER BOARD: Suggested Uses: Weather Boards are for exterior walls. The sizes available are 150x25. Species machined for Weather Boards and H3 level Treated Pine. YASIYASI: Suggested Uses: Yasiyasi timber is a heavy hardwood thus suitable for heavy construction, decking both domestic and heavy duty flooring, stairs, truck trays, cart bodies, door and window sills. Other alterative and possible uses may include bridge and wharf decking. The sizes available for sale are 100x50, 150x50, 150x75 and 150x100. These sizes are mostly used in framing, door and windowsills, bottom plate, corner studs and house beams.
